After using Divi for more than 10 years I am well placed to say that Divi is the most powerful and flexible WordPress theme currently on the market. On top of that it is also very user-friendly…I should know as I am entirely self-taught and have designed many many Divi websites over the years.

Divi allows for full flexibility regarding your design aspirations and as you progress with your Divi knowledge you’ll see it can really do anything that you want it to. To get started with Divi, you need to purchase a licence here, it is really worth the money to do this as you will not find a better theme out there.

One of the first steps in to customising your website is styling your text modules and below walks you through the steps needed to do this.

Open the Divi Builder: there are two ways to do this as shown in methods 1 and 2 below.

  1. Method 1. In the back-end of the Divi dashboard, navigate to Pages>then click on edit on the page you wish to edit or style the text on. The next screen will open up and you click on EDIT WITH THE DIVI BUILDER and the page will open in the Visual Builder fro you to locate the text to edit.

Locate the Text Module:

Now you are inside Divi’s visual builder you can locate the text module. The SECTIONS are blue, the ROWS are green and the MODULES are grey, it is the grey settings you need to click in to to amend the text styling.

  1. Once in the Divi Builder, locate the Text Module you want to style. You can add a new Text Module or edit an existing one by clicking on it.
  2. Access Text Module Settings:
Click on the module settings icon (the cogwheel icon) for the Text Module you want to style. This will open the module settings panel on the left side of the screen.
  3. Customize Text Styles:
In the module settings panel, navigate to the “Content” tab. Here, you’ll find various options to customize the text styles, including font size, font style, text color, alignment, line height, letter spacing, and more.
Use the provided options to adjust the text styles according to your preferences. You can click on the dropdown menus, input fields, color pickers, etc., to make changes.
  4. Additional Styling Options:
If you want more advanced styling options, such as adding custom CSS, you can navigate to the “Advanced Design Settings” tab within the module settings panel.
Here, you can add custom CSS code in the “Custom CSS” box to further customize the appearance of the text module. For example, you can target specific elements within the text module, adjust padding or margins, add borders or shadows, and more.
  5. Preview and Save Changes:
As you make changes to the text module styles, you can preview the changes in real-time within the Divi Builder interface.
  6. Once you’re satisfied with the styling, click the green checkmark button or the “Save” button to apply the changes and exit the module settings panel.
  7. Next you have to click on SAVE at the bottom right of the screen, if this is not visible click on the purple dot with 3 white spots in it to show the save button. See images below illustrating this.
  8. Once you have saved the changes then you go back to the top of the screen and click EXIT VISUAL BUILDER and your page will be saved and you will no longer be in the visual builder. If your site is live then the changes will be live as of that moment. See images below illustrating this.
